Introduction / FirstSpirit Server configuration / Configuration files (FirstSpirit Server) / Java VM and Wrapper (fs-wrapper*.conf) / Common Java parameters
Common Java parameters
wrapper.java.additional.1=-Djava.awt.headless=true
wrapper.java.additional.2=-Djava.security.auth.login.config=conf/fs-jaas.conf
wrapper.java.additional.3=-Djava.security.policy=conf/fs-server.policy
wrapper.java.additional.4=-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
The initial default configuration is designed for maximum compatibility with many FirstSpirit installations. These files should be optimized according to the needs and requirements of productive customer installations, however. Java experts, consultants from partner companies or Crownpeak should be consulted for advice in this regard. It is not possible to give generally applicable recommendations. |
Heap
The parameter -Xmn should no longer be used from Java 9 onward, as it has negative effects on the Garbage Collection G1 (Garbage-First). |
Metaspace
The Java VM manages the Metaspace (another native area of memory in addition to the heap) automatically. Changing the configuration, e.g., using parameter MetaspaceSize or MaxMetaspaceSize, is expressly advised against. |
For more information on the individual parameters, see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/tech/vmoptions-jsp-140102.html.
