More extensive model of a workflow

The aim of this workflow is to check whether certain entries can be deployed.
The check is divided into two steps: “technical” (content-related) and “legal”. These substeps are usually carried out by different people.

Care should also be taken to ensure that the legal check is only performed after the content check, so that any necessary content corrections are also included.

If a correction should prove necessary for legal reasons, the model assumes that it is not necessary to repeat the content check (however, this might be absolutely essential in application areas with different circumstances).

Editing the workflow

Separate checking loops must be created for each of the two checking steps involved in the model.

  • The initial check state is followed by an activity for the technical check. If the result of the check is positive, the workflow is advanced to the next check state. If the result of the check is negative, the check must be repeated (after changes have been made).
  • The second check state is followed by an activity for the legal check. If the result of the check is positive, the workflow is advanced to the end state. If the result of the check is negative, the check must be repeated (after changes have been made).

The finished workflow model

The finished workflow model might look like this:
