Creating rules: the “Rules” tab

Definition of dynamic forms in the Template Store

A template developer can influence certain elements or properties of the form through the definition of rules within the (form) template and thus create a “dynamic form”. The “Rules” tab can be used to define rules. Here, for example, an input component defined in the “Form” tab of the template is linked to a rule.

You can use the Code completion on the “Rules” tab to show all the tags and corresponding parameters (plus values) that are available for the rule definition in the current syntactic context, and insert them at the insert mark on the “Rules” tab.

The “Rules” tab is available in the following Template Store areas:

  • Page templates
  • Section templates
  • Format templates (only style templates)
  • Link templates
  • Table templates
  • Scripts
  • Workflows

Important Rules which are defined within a section template only influence forms which base directly on this template. Section references are only references to these forms. For this reason, violations of rules do not have an impact on section references.
