Defining a content area

After the first input windows have been defined for a page in the page store, the next step is to add dynamic content to the page. Dynamic content is not output within a page template, but is output in section templates. Any number of sections can be assigned to a page. In order to add these sections to a page, a content area must be defined for the sections.

Content areas are defined in the Properties tab of a page template.

Clicking on the Add content area icon lets you add a new content area, or edit, re-sort or delete an existing content area.

Click on the Add content area icon and then in the window that appears enter content_center for the
reference name and Mittlerer Bereich for the DE display name and Content Center for the EN display name.

Important It is important to note that sections can be added only to content areas. Therefore, at least one content area must always be defined.

Defining section restrictions

1. The added content area now appears in the list of content areas.

2. The option Section Templates - any specifies that all available section templates may be used for each content area of a page.

3. The unique name of the content area and the display names of the available editorial languages (for information on the multi-language concept of FirstSpirit please see chapter Languages in FirstSpirit) can be viewed in the bottom area.

If you want or need to set restrictions on the section selection, these section restrictions must always be made for each content area of a page.

Important Since section templates have not yet been defined, we will return to the section restrictions later.
