Time perspectives
The content of the current page can be displayed for different points in time. A timeline is available on the bottom right for selecting the point in time.
Either the future is displayed:
or the past (hatched background):
To switch to the view of the past, click on the double arrow on the left end of the time bar.
To switch to the view of the future, click on the double arrow on the right end of the time bar.
The point in time currently selected is displayed on the left-hand side of the timeline.
This icon identifies the current point in time. To the left of the icon are points in time in the past; to the right are points in time in the future.Click to jump here directly from another point in time.
Move the slider to select the required point in time. Click the slider with the mouse pointer and move it to the left or right until the desired position is reached. To start with, the slider is set to the current point in time.
In addition, special events – such as releases or validity periods – are displayed by default. To select the point in time with a higher level of precision, use the clock or calendar icons (see below).
This icon displays the point in time in the past when the page was last modified.
In the context of the future, different future points can be read off at this icon as long as they are available. If a validity period has been defined for sections, the relevant points in time (start and, if applicable, end) are displayed.
In the context of the past, this icon is used by default to identify points in time when a release occurred. Click the icon to go directly to them. If there is more than one release associated with the same point in time, a list is displayed so that you can select the one you want.
Clicking the icon jumps directly to these points in time.
These icons allow you to jump from one point in time identified by Icon event to the previous or next point in time.
The clock icon to the left of the current date or the calendar icon is used to select the points in time with a higher level of precision (date and time of day) as well as to select points in time which are outside the timeline.
For information on how the point in time selected here by the editor can be accessed, see the Preview (→FirstSpirit Online Documentation).
