Starting a workflow
A distinction is made between two types of workflow.
Workflows without context are not tied to a specific object within the project and are therefore started “without context”, i.e., without reference to an object. The standard “Task” workflow is an example of a workflow without context.
Context-bound workflows are tied to a specific object within the project and are always started and executed with reference to this object. The standard “Request release” workflow is an example of a context-bound workflow.

Workflows can be started on several objects at the same time. Multiple objects can be selected by pressing the Shift or Ctrl key and selecting the desired objects with a mouse click simultaneously. Please bear in mind that there are then only reduced options in the dialog box for starting and switching workflows to another workflow state. |
