Creating a project – Step by step

Welcome to our FIRSTspirit online documentation Step-by-step.

This part of the documentation will use a practice project to show you, quickly and in an uncomplicated way, how you can efficiently use FIRSTspirit to realise your projects.

Starting point for the practice project is an "empty" project which is to be filled with content step by step. It refers to the demo project FirstTools, but only contains a few components of this project to make it easier to understand.

Preparation work: The necessary settings in the Server and Project Configuration are discussed in this chapter.

Working with media: This chapter shows how folders are created in the Media Store and how media are entered for the project.

Create page template: This chapter describes the creation and editing of page templates with the corresponding project navigation.

Create section template: The creation and editing of section templates is described in this chapter.

Format templates: The chapter introduces the different types of format templates.

Link templates: This chapter deals with the creation of link types and link templates.

Enter contents: This chapter describes the editorial maintenance of contents by integrating pages and sections.

Specify page structure: This chapter deals with the definition of the project's menu structure.

Use databases: This chapter not only explains the creation of database schemata (content schemata) and table templates in the Template Store but also subsequent use of these tables in the Content Store.

Generate project: The chapter shows the procedure for generation of the project.

Workflow: The chapter describes the creating and editing of a new workflow model as well as the use of existing workflows.
