public interface XMLValue extends Serializable, Cloneable
Marker interface for the value type of columns with Column.TypeCode.TYPE_XML.

Contract for implementations:

  • The value is persisted to the database via Object.toString().
  • The value is read back by invoking a public single-String constructor reflectively — every implementation must provide one.
  • An attribute whose type implements XMLValue is mapped to Column.TypeCode.TYPE_XML by the ORM layer.
  • clone() must be public; the ORM layer clones values when copying entities.
