Using queries to influence the output results

The output of the product data entered in the Data Store is complete and unsorted. For large quantities of data, this output is unmanageable and needs to be limited further.

Queries can be created to limit the number of datasets from a data source in the output or to output them sorted. The queries specify the conditions that a dataset must fulfill in order to be included in the list of results.

Output of all products

All of the product data is displayed unsorted on the website.

Output of the products by category, sorted

Each of the three product categories has its own menu level.
A query is used to limit the product data as it is output to the respective product categories.

The objective now is to create and edit a query so that the output of product data is limited according to the related product categories.

Detailed documentation on database queries (QUERY tag) can be found under "Template syntax" in the section on "Template development".
