Fragments are small, self-contained units of content, such as a product description, a press release, contacts data, fragments can be created, managed, and published (e.g., via FirstSpirit CaaS) regardless of context. These fragments serve a particular purpose, and can store as much or as little content or metadata as needed for it’s purpose. For example, a news article or blog post may contain a title, subtitle, summary, body, media and tags. Together, all of this information becomes a content fragment.
Often fragments are not consumed in one but in several different channels. Accordingly, only editorial content and metadata are stored, the actual presentation is left out.
