Content-as-a-Service

The underlying architecture that provides FirstSpirit content in headless model. Any content can be retrieved via an interface (REST-API) regardless of format and integrated into apps, e-commerce shops, IoT devices, portals and websites.

Fragment

Fragments are small, self-contained units of content, such as a product description, a press release, contacts data, fragments can be created, managed, and published (e.g., via FirstSpirit CaaS) regardless of context. These fragments serve a particular purpose, and can store as much or as little content or metadata as needed for it’s purpose. For example, a news article or blog post may contain a title, subtitle, summary, body, media and tags. Together, all of this information becomes a content fragment.
Often fragments are not consumed in one but in several different channels. Accordingly, only editorial content and metadata are stored, the actual presentation is left out.

FragmentCreator

FragmentCreator is a lightweight tool for the creation and distribution of fragmented content. From an editorial point of view, FragmentCreator is a web application that is perfectly adapted for the creation and editing of format-neutral variants.

Hybrid

In the context of the FSXA, “hybrid” means the combination of statically generated “classic” content and fragmented content, which is usually loaded dynamically.

Progressive Web App (PWA)

Web applications that exist as regular websites, but can appear to the user like traditional applications or native mobile applications. The application type attempts to combine features offered by most modern browsers with the benefits of a mobile experience.

Project

FirstSpirit projects are groupings of content, media, structure, database content, and templates for a particular purpose.

Smart Living

A fictitious smart home products and services company, used as the backdrop for all FirstSpirit content in the Experience Accelerator.

Touchpoint Editing

A micro-user-interface that can be deployed across any touchpoint so that the content editor can make edits in the context of the appropriate channel without having to jump back and forth to a separate user-interface. This empowers non-technical teams to easily edit content in-context on any channel through an on demand UI available whenever and wherever they want.

Variant

Specific manifestation of a given fragment, e.g. a news article in the conceivable dimension language/region.
