Starting with this release, the FirstSpirit Connect (Headless) for SAP Commerce Cloud integration supports Server Side Rendering .

After updating the libraries (fs-spartacus-bridge and fs-spartacus-view-components), manual rework is required.

Follow the instructions described in the Spartacus documentation.

It is recommended to exclude the preview from SSR since this would cause the entire content to rerender after a pageload.

It is not possible to change the hostname of the production server thus a reverse proxy or similar is required to point to the Angular server on needed URL.

SPART-188 - Restructuring of the configuration for Multi-Site Support
For the implementation of different country or store pages Spartacus offers the so-called Multi-Site Configuration, which is used to connect different BaseSites. Starting with this ticket, the FirstSpirit Connect (Headless) for SAP Commerce Cloud integration also allows the connection of any number of BaseSites.

For this purpose, the previous FsBridgeConfig has been converted into two objects: The first object is a wrapper for the entire configuration and ensures the namespace. The second object corresponds to the name of the BaseSite which should use this configuration.

Therefore, the existing configuration must be modified as follows:

Starting with this release, the FirstSpirit Connect (Headless) for SAP Commerce Cloud integration only supports Spartacus version 3.x. Older versions are no longer supported.

Starting with this release of the FirstSpirit Connect (Headless) for SAP Commerce Cloud integration, support for older Spartacus versions is no longer available. After updating the libraries (fs-spartacus-bridge, fs-spartacus-common and fs-spartacus-view-components), manual rework is required in the FirstSpirit project.

After updating to version 3, Spartacus treats the Homepage differently: Before version 3, Homepage was used as the ID for this page, with version 3 this ID is now __HOMEPAGE__. Since the integration uses this ID for the mapping of the FirstSpirit page, the ID of the Homepage must be updated in the project. In addition, a hidden input component is maintained in the content pages (pt_cc_identifier), whose value also requires an adjustment.

You need to make the following changes to update the FirstSpirit project:

  • Change the reference name of the content page Homepage from homepage to __homepage__.

  • Additionally, adjust the reference name of the corresponding reference page Homepage from homepage to __homepage__ as well.

  • Set the pt_cc_identifier input component in the LandingPage2Template page template to hidden="no".

  • Subsequently, you need to adjust the Commerce cloud identifier input component that is now visible in the form of the content page Homepage: Update the previous value ContentPage:Homepage to the new value ContentPage:__HOMEPAGE__.

  • After that, set the pt_cc_identifier input component in the LandingPage2Template page template back to hidden="yes".
